Dan Ryan

World Challenge & One Young World

Program Development Manager for World Challenge, the role involves inspiring young people to follow their own path in life, developing resilience, empathy and leadership through real life experience, on expeditions to developing countries.

Previously employed as the MBA Recruitment Manager in the Said Business School, the University of Oxford, Dan was responsible for developing and implementing marketing and business plans for the Oceania, UK and US regions. Dan combines business acumen and marketing expertise with an impressive portfolio of volunteer positions and a diplomatic role for the United Nations.

With a demonstrable track record in retail marketing, Dan has complemented his career aspirations in global business with a variety of social enterprise projects that has seen him engaging with youth campaigns, foreign aid programmes and volunteer opportunities in developing countries.

His successful involvement in Australian government youth and foreign aid programmes culminated in his most influential appointment to date – The UN Youth Ambassador for Australia. The 2012-13 post saw Dan develop and execute an extensive tour of Australia conducting workshops and delivering speeches to young people in schools, universities and community groups and a diplomatic posting at the 67th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.

Dan continues to develop his interest in social and business enterprise, with the WEF Global Shapers and as an active One Young World Ambassador.
